Nepali Food Recipe

Hello, hi Namaste  
Today I am going to show you how to make Puri and curry in a simple method. 

Ingredients required:- 
  1. A mixed firm flour dough which is kneaded until it smoothens 
  2. A whole night soaked yellow peas 
  3. Small equally cut potatoes 
  4. Chopped onions 
  5. Cumin and coriander powder 
  6. Salt 
  7. Chopped tomato 
  8. Red chilli powder 
  9. Ginger and garlic paste 
  10. Turmeric and Sunflower oil. 
  1. Firstly lets make curry for Puri. 
  2. Take a medium sized cooker. Then put some oil as required. 
  3. After the oil is heated, put the chopped onions slowly. 
  4. Fry the onions until it turns into red color. 
  5. Then put the potatoes which are cut into small pieces
  6. Then put the yellow peas as well. and mix them. note: (A thing to be remembered is these yellow peas must be cooked in the cooker to be cooked properly an regulate the pressure for 4-5 times.) 
  7. Then put some Turmeric, Cumin and Coriander powder, Salt as per required. 
  8. Then put the ginger and garlic paste. 
  9. And then put the chopped tomatoes. 
  10. Now mix all the ingredients properly. 
  11. Now again put red chilli powder as per required. 
  12. And again mix them properly. 
  13. Now put water in it until chick peas and tomatoes gets drowned in the water. 
  14. Now close the cooker with its cover.and then regulate the pressure for 4-5 times. 
  15. Finally, curry is done. 
Now lets go for Puri. 
  • To make puri in simple way, The mixed dough is taken and divided into equal small balls. 
  • Now the balls are made round with the palm of hands. And pat the round dough with a plain flour. 
  • And then it is rolled with a rolling pin into small round equal sizes. The round Puri shouldn’t be made thin. 
*Note: If you are making Puri alone then at first roll all the Puris then only start cooking to make it easy for yourself. 
  • Now put some oil in the karai or Pan. 
  • The oil should be sufficient enough to make the puri drowned. 
  • Heat the oil. Place only one puri in the karai to be well cooked. After placing the puri, it should be pressed slightly with dadu from every directions to make it puffed. 
  • Make the puri light brown colour. Then place on a paper towel to prevent from excess oil. 
Finally the Puri is ready as well.. 
Now Puri and Curry is ready to be served.
